Bat Masterson: Best of Season 1 (Gift Box)

IGNORE INACCURATE REVIEW
I've just received the Bat Masterson first season set and, despite what the initial review said, this is a five-disc set, not single disc, beautifully packaged and an incredible bargain. The second season is on the way, and I hope the third will follow.

Beat my expectations!!
Have watched the first 2 disks and the quality is excellent. Free of dirt and dust! Sharp and crisp! Thus far the run times have been just over 26 minutes, which means they are the complete episodes. TGG did an excellent job!! No captions, and a "Play all" or by individual episodes are the only features. But for the price of $11.99 for a newly release by seasons packages, can't beat it!!!

Update...finished the entire Season 1 (5 disks), all episodes run 25:50 or longer. So again, complete episodes.

CANE AND DERBY HAT HIS NAME IS BAT MASTERSON
All 37 eps on 5 disc Prints of the tv shows are very nice.
If you are a fan of the shows. You should get the series.
I hope MGM will bring out season 3 soon

Dead Man's Gun: Best of Season 1 (Gift Box)

Dead Man's Gun Season One
This Western series that was billed as a cross between "Gunsmoke" & "The Twilight Zone" when it orignally appeared on Showtime in the late 1990's has finally been released on DVD & it has been worth the wait! Each episode revolves around the story of a cursed gun that brings misery to whoever possesses it. Ominously narrated by Kris Kristofferson, each episode is a different story with a completely different cast, the gun being the only thing central to each episode.

Alliance (Universal) has done a magnificent job of presenting crystal quality of the episodes on each disk. In season one you get every episode that appeared in the series INCLUDING the first three episodes (The Great McDonagle, Fool's Gold & My Brother's Keeper) which were originally shown on Showtime before Dead Man's Gun was made into a series and NOT usually seen in the reruns on TV.

This Western series is a little off the usual path of westerns but the excellent writing & suspense places it a...

Dead Man's Gun
The writing on this is superb. The twists of the story are innovative, and you never know if the main charactor or the gun will win in the end. The number of big name stars in this series are many. The only thing that they all share, is this absolutely gorgeous gun that appears to be a special Army Colt that gets passed from person to person. The gun is pure evil. So, does evil win, or does good triumph over evil? I wish they had made way more than the episodes they did. isnt' that always the way with the good stuff?

I like it a lot!
I recently started to record this show, wish I had done it earlier, I loved it! It is like a western Twilight Zone/
The Dark Side! I recently watched the episode called: The Ripper, OMG, I was so intrigued to know who the killer really was, but the ending really surprised me! I plan on ordering seasons one/two, since most shows on the local networks suck so bad! Keep them coming Mr. Winkler, you have a hit on your hands!

Forensic Files: Crimes of Passion (Gift Box)

What you would expect if you're a FF fan
Episodes included in this two-disc set:

As the Tide Turns
Crash Course
Dinner and a Movie
Dirty Laundry
Ghost in the Machine
Hell's Kitchen
Internal Affair
Naughty or Nyce
Sunday School Ambush
A Voice from Beyond
Web of Seduction
A Welcome Intrusion

I would have given this five stars as a huge fan of the show, but it has to get four because it is exactly what it sounds like - just the 12 episodes listed, no extras or advertisements. I would have liked some extras :)

Regardless, this is the dvd that includes episodes related to crimes of passion, which is pretty straightforward. Affairs, jealousy, etc. If you're already a fan of the show, then you know what to expect. If you are new to the show, it is basically an anatomy of a crime. Forensic Files takes you from the crime itself, to the people involved, to the reality of what was going on behind the scenes, and of course the forensic evidence...

Passion does kill.
Narration is very good. The stories are interesting. Some people lose track of their control. Love is really blind. The consequences are worse than expected.

i have a passion...
If you have ever seen an episode of this show, then you know what you are in for. The episodes here are all very good with a nice cross section of situations, settings, and accounts. If you like the show, then this will not dissapoint.

The Bill Cosby Show: Best of Season 1 (Gift Box)

Fantastic! I've been waiting for this one.
When I was a kid (about 35 years ago) this was just about my favorite show. It was funny, creative and decent, the whole family could watch it. There was no laugh track and it was better for it I think. I've always enjoyed Bill Cosby's comedy (spent many hours listening to records of his comedy routines) and I've been hoping this t.v. series would become available on DVD some day so that I could enjoy them again. If you like Cosby at all go ahead and order it.

The forgotten Cosby show is back!
I remember watching this show on television as a child and loving it. I loved Bill Cosby and the funky soundtrack, and the fact that this show tended to deal with real life in a funny and optimistic way, and there was no soundtrack. This show doesn't need to tell you when to laugh.

I've mentioned this show to friends over the years and nobody knew what I was talking about. I thought that perhaps for some reason Bill Cosby himself had decided to never let this show see the light of day again.

Well, I was wrong and I am thrilled to be able to see this show in color since my family had only a black-and-white TV back in 1969. And, they even put it on one-sided discs! They did the packaging right!

So, why not kick back and watch one of the very best TV shows ever. In a way it's rather dated, but it's rather timeless too.

The Cos That Refreshes!!
Finally! One of the great sitcoms of all time is back. I always thought that the '80s "Cosby Show" was too self-consciously good. Cosby was a buffoon, his wife was too intelligent and the kids were too well-behaved. The original "Bill Cosby Show" drew humor from real-life situations. As Chet Kincaid, Cosby spends entire episodes looking for a valve needle to blow up his volleyballs, trying to get some sleep, trying to borrow a television to watch the Rams/49ers, attempting to find a letter signed by Abraham Lincoln, and many more. The premises were strokes of genius; 22 minute lessons in morality, love, and friendship, all without hitting the audience over the head with messages or even canned laughter. The guest stars were always amazing: from the famous: Henry Fonda, Will Geer, Cicely Tyson - to cult favorites like Antonio Fargas, Herb Edelman (hilarious, trying to quit smoking) and Len Lesser ("Seinfeld"). Jazz and blues fans should take note because you never know when a cameo...
